Surprise, It’s Our President Mara Jernigan!

Surprise! It’s Slow Food Canada’s President, Mara Jernigan

Date: April 6th ,2011
Location: NAIT culinary kitchens, enter off 188th Ave (corner 106 st)
Time: 6-8pm

Mara is on a cross Canada tour of Slow Food Conviviums. She will wind her way on a train through the Rockies and land in Slow Food Edmonton’s back yard.

When there’s a visitor, we can’t resist the opportunity to show off! Chef Blair Lebsack has put together a black box of outstanding Northern Albertan produce. What will Mara do? Will Blair step in and save the day? Or will Mara have some British Colombian tricks up her sleeve?

Come along to NAIT for a fun evening of delicious samples and food talk. You’ll also learn about Slow Food Canada, and what other antics Mara has got up to on her trip.

Mara Jernigan is President of Slow Food Canada. Chef Mara helped establish Cowichan Valley, British Colombia, as Canada’s first Cittaslow (Slow City). She runs cooking classes with a focus on local and wild foods of Vancouver Island.
