Back By Popular Demand! Wild Boar and Beer 2006

Press Release

Edmonton, May 2, 2006: Building on last year’s “wildly” successful event, Slow Food Edmonton presents the 2nd annual Wild Boar and Beer BBQ on June 18, 2005 (Father’s Day!) at Alley Kat Brewery (9929-60 Avenue) from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.

“Tickets were sold-out a week before the event last year, so this time we’re planning on a great party for at least 200 foodies,” says event co-chair Colleen Ingoldsby. “Last year’s event was just a fantastic afternoon celebration of central Alberta food and drink, with great local music and fun. With beer samplings, tours of the brewery, and an incredible menu of local, seasonal foods grown and raised in Central Alberta, it made a great afternoon for food lovers and those wishing to embrace the ‘Slow’ life.”

The event is open to the general public and features beer samplings and brewery tours of Edmonton’s award-winning microbrewery, Alley Kat Brewery; spit-roasted wild boar from Mayerthorpe’s Hog Wild Specialties; Edgar Farms’ Alberta-grown asparagus, Edmonton’s Tree Stone Bakery’s breads and much, much more.

Tickets are $35 per person for Slow Food members, $40 per person for non-members (everyone’s welcome!), $15 for those 18 and under, and free for kids under 10 accompanied by an adult. Tickets can be purchased at Greenwoods’ Bookshoppe (7925-104 Street), Call the Kettle Black (12523-102 Avenue, High Street; cash only at this ticket location), Alley Kat Brewery, and on-line on this web site!
