After the rip-roaring success of the Wild Boar and Beer Barbecue last summer, Slow Food Edmonton has decided to make this an annual event.

Again, it’s being held on Father’s Day, June 18. 2006. (Hooray, no more socks and ties for dad, just great local beer and food!)

The event takes place at Alley Kat Brewery, and will feature brewery tours and beer, Hog Wild Specialties’ wild boar, an unbelievable spread of delicious Alberta food, live music, and family fun.

Get your tickets early, as last year’s event sold out a week before. Tickets go on sale in early May at Greenwoods’ Bookshoppe (7925-104 Street), Call the Kettle Black (12523-102 Avenue; cash only for tix at this location), Alley Kat Brewery (9929-60 Avenue) and on-line at www.slowfoodedmonton.ca. Tickets are $35 for Slow Food members, $40 for non-Slow Food members (everyone’s welcome), $15 for under-18, and free for kids 10 and under. Don’t miss this one.
